Position summary:

As a member of the Strategic Sourcing department, this position is responsible for ensuring accurate Materials Costs to support the pricing of Bids, Options, and SRCR’s. This position will also analyze the margins achieved at build as compared to the targets established at the time of Bid or Option pricing and coordinate activities related to achieving the margin target with Strategic Sourcing and other cross functional groups.

What you will do:



• Ensure completion and accuracy of bids and tasks assigned.


• Validate material costs in Bid Submissions. (Bridge the bid material costs to the reference bus material cost).


• Coordinate the activity of receiving contract specific quotations from components suppliers as required.


• Validate material costs on all customer change orders – SRCR’s.


• Prepare management summary for the material costs and supply risks on each bid and option.


• Ensure Contract Specific Quoted Items purchased at agreed upon quoted values with Strategic Sourcing.


• Assist Finance with the accuracy of the report contract margins.


• Support purchasing extended warranties by SR.


• Prepare documentation for the FTA to support the DBE program which includes New Flyer DBE goal submissions.


• Prepare contract specific DBE documents as required for Bids.


• Monitor, control, and report PPV variances and reference material cost with Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing.



Preferred Skills



• Post-secondary education within a related discipline.


• Supply chain or financial background considered an asset.


• Three to five years’ experience in a purchasing manufacturing environment.


• Strong analytical capabilities and financial skills.


• Above average interpersonal skills, great learning attitude and open mind.


• Process-orientated with an attention to detail.


• Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment


• High level of proficiency with Excel.
