BetaKit is seeking an entrepreneurial-minded sales manager to join the team. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about Canada’s tech and innovation ecosystem. This person will be responsible for raising the overall profile of BetaKit in the community through new business meetings, and events. They will also handle all inbound and outbound business development, including everything from sourcing leads, to meetings and presentations, to onboarding new clients with
the internal team.
In the role of sales manager, you will be expected to:
  • Develop and drive the annual sales/new business strategy for BetaKit, including sales forecasts and targets
  • Develop and sell custom, integrated programs for BetaKit that solve business needs for partners
  • Handle all incoming new business requests: assessing them for fit, meeting with potential clients, and leading the development of all new business proposals with internal subject matter experts
  • Spearheading outbound new business activities, including targeted cold outreach
  • Work with the BetaKit team to develop cold outreach lists
  • Cultivate and manage pipeline of relationships with existing clients
  • Monitor industry news to identify companies to approach based on funding, acquisitions, and other key growth metrics
  • Create partnerships with companies who offer complementary services (development, social media, paid digital, etc) to source leads and potential referral fees
  • Develop a capability presentation we can give to prospective clients
  • Draft contracts and handle accounting onboarding of new clients
  • Lead workshops about BetaKit for companies as a lead generation tool
Additional requirements:
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proactive self-starter and independent worker
  • Familiarity with technology, innovation trends and terminology
  • Deep understanding and passion for the digital and social media landscape
  • Proven record of meeting/exceeding sales targets
  • A preference for an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma
