Job Description:

The Human Resources Manager reports to the Senior Director, Human Resources and is responsible for overseeing the HR functions for the Richmond Hill facility. This position serves as a front-line operational support and internal business partner for the Richmond Hill manufacturing site, which includes both manufacturing operations and administration. The Human Resources Manager will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: full-cycle recruitment for both hourly and salaried positions, on boarding, workforce planning, talent development, change management, employee relations, performance management, health and safety, compensation, employment law and compliance, and HR information systems (HRIS) reporting.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • As a key member of the Plant Steering Committee, provides sound advice and coaching to department managers on all HR related areas
  • Provides guidance to site leaders on employee relations issues, attendance management, conflict resolution and the corrective action process
  • Builds effective relationships with cross functional teams to understand their business goals and to proactively identify and implement solutions that align with organizational strategies
  • Manages hourly and salaried requisitions and takes accountability for recruitment delivery targets
  • Leads talent management programs, including performance review cycle tracking, individual development plans, and succession planning
  • Coordinates and facilitates on boarding programs
  • Manages hourly wage scale administration, including annual review and any ad-hoc changes
  • Utilizes Power BI and Workday to facilitate regular tracking and reporting of key HR related KPIs including turnover, open positions, labour hours Conducts critical analysis of HR data to gain insights to inform HR Planning
  • Leads various HR projects for the site, as required
  • Maintains accessibility to all production shifts
  • Oversees of Kronos time and attendance (acts as back up where required)
  • Oversees of all SAP access request processing for the facility
  • Conducts workplace investigations
  • Participates in the social committee for the site and coordination of social committee events
  • Participates as a key member of the safety council for the facility

Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or business-related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
  • Strong customer service, relationship building, problem solving and follow-up skills
  • Thorough knowledge of current trends and issues in Human Resources Management
  • Familiar with a 24/7 operational environment
  • CHRP or CHRL designation preferred
