The work you will do
The Director, IT Business Partnership’s foremost responsibilities are to partner with the business to identify, rationalize, and prioritize Woodbridge investments in business process improvements and in underlying IT technologies to ensure their alignment with business strategy and objectives. Through collaboration, functional expertise and influence, the Director IT Business Partnership will build Functional, End to End Business Process roadmaps for each business area and manage the portfolio of business processes and related IT initiatives. He/she will help the business build business cases and select the right IT solutions for the business needs. He/she ensures visibility to the business into the delivery of business process improvements and diligently follows up on technology investments’ benefits realization. The Director IT Business Partnership will conduct regular feedback sessions with the business to ensure IT alignment on business strategy and priorities. He/she will be the voice of the business within the IT function and the voice of IT within the business pushing for business processes and underlying technologies standards adoption within the business in term of business process best practices, solutions selection, and investments value realization.


Highlights of your new role

Business and IT Strategic Alignment

  • Establish and manage trusting relationships with business leaders.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops about end to end business process mapping, benchmarking, analysis and improvements.
  • Propose improvements based on business process best practices.
  • Support business in defining their needs in term of process improvements, organizational structure, people training and when needed technology investments.
  • Propose technology solutions where needed.
  • Ensure linkage of the IT investments to business area strategy and objectives.
  • Advocate technology-based innovation for the business units.
  • Influence business decisions regarding investments in technology.
  • Assess and define business needs with business unit staff to identify and shape opportunities for improvements. These opportunities could be business process related, organization related, training or technology related.
  • Support business unit initiatives with IT components as needed (applications, infrastructure, services) through development of business cases, high level solutions, and cost estimates.
  • Identify cost and feasibility of services required by business unit.
  • Evaluate business requirements and drive feasibility analysis, prioritization and approval of new initiatives through the Business IT Council or other appropriate channels.
  • Prepare basic functional designs, high-level options and proof-of-concepts, where applicable.
  • Support the launch of approved and prioritized projects.
  • Support projects delivery, as needed.
  • Acquire business unit resources, as necessary.
  • Communicate constraints, as needed.
  • Participate in PMO management meetings as needed.
  • Remain aware of enterprise efforts and recommend combining and grouping of like projects.
  • Coordinate project post-implementation reviews with business sponsor and IT leadership.
  • In collaboration with the business sponsor, monitor and report realization of benefits (as laid out in business case).
  • Manage a group of Business Partner analysts by providing direction, input, coaching and feedback.
  • Work with staff to improve performance by providing necessary learning or developmental experiences.


Demand Management 

  • Assess and define business needs with business unit staff to identify and shape opportunities for improvements. These opportunities could be business process related, organization related, training or technology related.

What you will bring

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s in management, commerce, engineering, information technology, computer science or a related discipline.
  • Typically has 10 to 15 years of business/industry work experience, including significant leadership responsibilities with proven ability to influence senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of the following functional / business areas: engineering, supply chain, sales & marketing, manufacturing, procurement, logistics or finance.
  • Experience in areas such as consulting, process re-engineering, organizational transformation, Six Sigma, Design Thinking, Agile and Lean.
  • High level understanding of the various Functional areas of an enterprise and their integration points: Finance, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing and Engineering.
  • Demonstrated effective management of a portfolio of business process transformation initiatives with technology investments for a complex enterprise.
  • Experience in leveraging IT technology to enable business strategy and drive change.
  • Experience in successfully leading major process and systems change initiatives.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Experience in Automotive and Chemical industries a plus.
