Agilus is accepting resumes for the position of HR Coordinator for our client located in Redwater.

The HR Coordinator acts as a supportive role all human resource department functions including full-cycle recruitment, maintaining employee records, WCB claims coordination, extracting and reporting HR metrics from HRIS/Payroll software, and providing administration and coordinating support in HR projects and initiatives.  

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Respond to employee requests regarding current policies and procedures and various HR related matters
  • Support full-cycle recruitment and selection
  • Coordinate screening and onboarding process include telephone pre-screens, in-person interviews, reference checks, new hire orientations and collection of applicable HR paperwork
  • Assist with benefits and compensation administration
  • Complete applicable paperwork and perform data entry of employee changes (i.e. new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, etc.) and ensure all departments are notified
  • Maintain employee records in paper files and electronically
  • Extract HR metrics from HRIS/Payroll software and export in summarized reports
  • Coordinate Worker’s Compensation claims including the preparation and filing of reports and coordination of return to work programs
  • Plan and coordinate employee training and development courses
  • Actively participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee
  • Complete exit interviews and maintain results for the HR Manager to review
  • Handle all HR administration requirements under the direction of the HR Manager including preparation of announcements, creating meeting minutes, documentation and filing
  • Develop and maintain org charts
  • Creating PowerPoint / Prezi presentations
  • Assisting in the drafting and designing company newsletter
  • Other HR related responsibilities as assigned by the HR Manager

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma in human resources, business, administrative services or a related field, or 3+ years prior experience in human resources; a combination of work experience and education may be considered.
  • Excellent computer skills and demonstrated experience in database management and record keeping.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and MS Office, specifically Word and Excel at an advanced level is a requirement
  • Software training in Prezi and Adobe Photoshop is considered an asset
  • 2-3 years of experience in a human resources associate/coordinator role
  • 2+ years of recruitment experience and building a talent pipeline is preferred
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in extrapolating HR data and exporting into reports is required
  • Experience in an industrial, mining, and/or manufacturing, and/or construction environment would be considered an asset.
