Metallurgical Manufacturing Engineer Co-op

Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Co-op/Term Position to join our team. In this role, this individual will be responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance team to develop improvements to our steel pipe manufacturing and threading program, under the direction of the site Quality Assurance Manager.

  • Assist with planning, implementation and analysis of production trials related to threading operations, and the commissioning of a new steel heat treatment line
  • Under the direction of the Quality Manager, implement procedure changes and practice improvements
  • Recommend and implement improvements to current practices
  • Data analysis of production line performance and reporting of trends
  • Other tasks related to production and quality control of steel pipe for oil and gas applications

  • Engineering student in Materials/Metallurgical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Must have completed a university-level statistics course
  • Proficiency in Inventor, Minitab and/or other CAD or statistical software an asset
  • Knowledge of API thread gauging, or metrology fundamentals an asset
