Job Description

We're looking for a Supervisor, Stores/Receiving to join our team at Pre-Con's Brampton South facility.


Reporting to the Services Manager with a dotted line to Procurement and Inventory Manager, the Stores/Receiving Supervisor is responsible for getting material ready for delivery on site and on time.  

The Supervisor is responsible to ensure material required for production and/or site is fabricated and/or received per Engineering specifications and production ready. 

Major Responsibilities/Challenges

  • Have material ready for production in the plant.
  • Ensure material is checked in properly.
  • Ensure material is picked up from vendors.
  • Supervise Chuck room ensuring availability of chucks for production.  
  • Able to operate machinery necessary for jobs at hand.
  • Actively participate in the Health and Safety Program. 

Position Details

  • Receive and check in material as it arrives; mark and record.
  • Determine job material requirements from printed or computerized production drawings. Ensure material is delivered to the production areas in coordination with the weekly and daily production schedules. 
  • Maintain stores area ensuring it is kept organized and inventory is maintained and recorded accurately.

  • Receiving incoming and preparing outgoing shipments as required
  • Maintain control records of inventories
  • Conduct monthly inventory reconciliation and cycle counts as directed.
  • Collection, completion and submission of all packing slips
  • Ensure that all goods received have been inspected, handled, and stored according to receiving procedure.
  • Prepare and inspect all kitting materials for daily production.
  • Oversee compliance with waste management contractors and pick ups.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations; as well as, the Company Health and Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities.
  • Supervise and direct a team of Stock keepers in their daily duties.

Required Qualifications

  • A Great Attitude!
  • OSSGD (High School) Diploma
  • 2+ years Supervisory experience.
  • Inventory management – ideally in construction or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving. 
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints. 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Customer focused.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven time-management, planning and organizational skills. 


  • Pre-cast industry experience. 
  • Supervision of union workers.

Working Conditions


  • Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm (flexible availability required for overtime, weekends, etc. business-dependent).

Physical Effort

  • Time is split between office and yard. 
  • Frequently required to lift, carry, push and/or pull object up to 50 lbs.

Physical Environment

  • Common yard conditions apply - dust, noise, varying temperatures, etc.
  • Typical office conditions apply. 

Sensory Environment

  • Attention to detail and focus on the task at hand are extremely important. 
  • Ability to multitask and handle pressures associated with meeting production deadlines.
