On behalf of our client, a leader in the cannabis industry, we are looking for a VP of Business Development to take on an entrepreneurial and relationship focused role. As a visionary leader, they will identify and generate new strategies for positive business growth. The individual in this key role will work directly with the CEO and COO while partnering with clients and businesses to creatively achieve organizational objectives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction for the business development unit; implementing sales processes and outcomes through budgets, timelines, and results metrics in line with organizational goals
  • On-going evaluation and development of the organizational structure; leading, training and motivating a team of Business Development Representatives
  • Execute strategic marketing plans ensuring presence and competitiveness within the industry
  • Create and maintain productive, profitable and long-term business relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Implement new ideas, concepts and collaborative approaches to grow market share
  • Stay current on all trends and innovations within the Cannabis Industry
  • Perform other duties as required
  • The Ideal Candidate has:

  • Minimum 5+ years of Business Development Management experience in a related field such as; pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and consumer goods
  • Background in advertising or marketing considered an asset
  • Excellent project management, strategic planning and organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • High energy and self directed with the ability to rapidly build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Understanding of the cannabis industry regulations and restrictions
  • Confident decision maker with the ability to think outside the box
  • Strong analytical and research skills with effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Understanding financial reports including budgetary guidelines and project expenditures
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability
  • Strong work ethic and no problem putting in the time it takes to grow a business
