Description

The Warehouse Technician manages the stores home loan procedure by issuing and restocking all tools loaned and maintaining a file on all home loan documents.

  • Understand and ensure the 20 Principles of Behavioral and Process Safety are followed.
  • Communicate and champion the 20 Safety Principles to empower and enable others.
  • Preserve high standards of housekeeping and organization.

 

Maintain safety, housekeeping and environmental standards in all day-to-day activities.

  • Issue goods from stores for on demand requests from customers.
     
  • Ensure the Temporary material withdrawal form is completed.
     
  • When the material is returned retain the completed form with the material. Review the form periodically to ensure materials are returned promptly.
     
  • Review materials staged on shelves and determine if work is completed without materials.
     
  • Provide list of materials to Material Planner for return to stock or Vendor.
     
  • Monitor off shift goods issues, ensure SAP Goods issue is entered for all materials leaving the warehouse during off hours. Validate materials removed during off hours.
     
  • Provide packaging and administrative duties for all packages leaving the site via the warehouse, such as Courier shipments. Keep paper copies of all shipping documents in the relevant file.
     
  • Deliver empty TBC containers to warehouse from chemical storage building when delivery truck arrives. Prepare shipping documents, check container for mechanical integrity.
     
  • Provide coordination of recyclables, manage and store these products until sufficient quantities are on hand for disposal. Contact the Vendor and arrange for pick-up of same. Prepare all shipping documents and ensure recyclables are shipped appropriately.
     
  • Provide coordination of Chainfall and Lifeline inspection certification, prepare all shipping documents for Chainfalls and lifelines sent out for inspection, receive returned chainfalls and lifelines and file all documentation.
     
  • Provide coordination for gas cylinder exchange. Ensure all documents are in place for the receipt of full cylinders and the return of empty cylinders.
     
  • Lab sample chemicals for analysis as per procedure and in accordance with TDG. File all shipping documents and keep available for a minimum of 5 years.
     
  • Review Purchase Orders by scheduled delivery date (ME2N), ensure scheduled goods are received by delivery date. Receive all goods into SAP, in the case of materials not arriving by delivery date, advise Material Planner or Buyer via email, for further action.
     
  • Receive all materials into the warehouse, if required enter receipt into SAP. File all packing slips by day, by monthly file folder. Do not accept verbal delivery receipts, every receipt will have a packing slip or an e mail on file to confirm delivery. On packing slip identify storage location and number of packages.
     
  • For Capital project receipts, enter receipt information into the Capital Materials   tracking spreadsheet.
     
  • When receiving any chemical product requiring an MSDS, confirm valid MSDS is available and confirm storage of same meets MSDS requirements.
     
  • Receive all materials into stock, enter into SAP and store materials in relevant storage location in warehouse. File all packing slips into monthly file folder.
     
  • Review all returns to warehouse, validate with Material Planner returned material is suitable for returning to shelf, process returns into SAP as instructed by Material Planner.
     
  • Provide manual count of items requested by SAP cycle count report. Enter count into SAP and return completed list to Material Planner. Work with Material Planner to resolve variances.
     
  • Review VMI inventory and contact Material Planner for inventory adjustments.
     
  • Manage lubricating oil inventory; check inventory weekly, process goods issue for barrels consumed.  Receive deliveries of oil, return empty barrels to Vendor. Ensure barrels are fully drained and “Empty Drum Handling" procedure is followed.

Requirements

Level of education & Knowledge:  
  • Post Secondary diploma and/or certificate related to Inventory and Warehouse Management preferred

 

Experience in general:

 

  • Good interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in SAP PPM module: SAP notifications, orders, PPM, and scheduling activities
