About Future Festival
Trend Hunter’s Future Festival is the company’s flagship conference and takes place in downtown Toronto. It is an event like no other with 1,000+ of the world’s top innovation and insights leaders from brands like Starbucks, Tesla and MTV coming together to plan for their upcoming year. Between innovation keynotes, prototyping workshops and Trend Safaris, attendees are treated to a fully immersive 3-day program.


In 2019, Future Festival will be travelling to 10 international cities, bringing our conference to New York, Chicago, Orlando, Atlanta, Seattle, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Berlin. We’re expecting 3,000 attendees to experience Future Festival throughout the year, including our World Summit.

About The Role
We’re looking for someone who has experience selling events and acquiring sponsorships (between $20k-200k per deal) for a series of events or a single annual event. The hired applicant will be responsible for identifying and developing high quality prospects, securing appointments/meetings, as well as building and maintaining a sustainable and profitable pipeline of opportunities expanding beyond existing contacts. Ideally, the right candidate can leverage a healthy roster of relationships from their past experience.


In this role you will work with our Future Festival team and President to manage the sponsorship sales process through custom proposal generation, creative development of sales materials and discovering new opportunities available for each Future Festival event.


For this position, the hired applicant should be confident in the development and implementation of unique sponsorship sales strategies, development of sponsorship inventory opportunities and establishing a unique value proposition. This role may also entail aiding in the development of media and in-kind partnerships strategy depending on experience level.


Requirements 
Applicants should have successfully completed their undergraduate studies in either Business, Communications, Marketing, Event Planning or Event Management, with at least 4+ years of event marketing and/or sponsorship sales experience.


Applicants should also have a passion for selling and relationship building, possess excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented and comfortable working on a diverse team. Expertise in selling high-dollar sponsorships is preferred.


Applicants should be confident in their abilities to bring in approximately $200k of sponsorship revenue in their first year across our 11 events.

Requirements

Skills & Qualities Desired:
• Minimum of four (4) years’ experience including responsibilities in corporate sales or service, promotional marketing or event marketing; sponsorship experience (agency, client, or property side)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable making presentations and public speaking
• Understanding of general marketing principles and a mindset for service
• Experience leading the development, execution and managing of business plans
• Demonstrated ability to build and develop professional relationships
• Creative self-starter, driven by results and ability to drive change
• Ability to generate new leads and nurture relationships to close


Location: Trend Hunter is based out of Toronto, Canada and it would be ideal to have this position be in-office, however, we are open to applicants located in the United States as there could be a potential to work virtually with the nature of this position.


Start Date: The position will begin in Q1 2019.
