Senior Finance Manager
Job Description

Our client a multi-disciplinary design firm who works with large international corporations, visionary start-ups, innovative retailers and cultural organizations is looking to add a Senior Finance Manager to their team. This is a full-time permanent role reporting to the CEO. The role is located in Toronto. The Senior Finance Manager will be the “go to” person for all finance matters and will support the senior management team to ensure the company is run efficiently and profitably with a continuous focus on continuous improvement to drive sustainable growth and ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all Accounting and Financial Reporting activities including month-end, journal entries, working papers etc.
  • Manage the activities of one staff member who handles AP, AR, Payroll
  • Financial Statement preparation
  • Monitor budget actual vs forecast and identify variances
  • Cash Management
  • 606 set up projects
  • Resource management – studio capacity vs revenue
  • Manage risky AR balances
  • Manage wire payments
  • Oversee payroll processing 2x monthly
  • Manage bank administration
  • Handle annual tax compilation
  • CRA contact for the company






Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Senior Finance Manager role
  • BA in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or MBA
  • CPA and asset
  • Previous experience in a creative agency and asset
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven multi-tasking skills
  • Strong decision-making skills, problem solver
  • Leadership skills, take initiative, proactive  
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
