Classification: VP/Director of Finance

Compensation: $120000.00 to $140000.00 yearly

Our client, and dynamic and growing company is looking to add to their Executive team with a Director of Finance. This Director of Finance position, with work directly with the owners, and provide solid and consistent leadership to the large finance team already in place. The role of the Director of Finance will also include full operational support to both the Sales and operations teams and provide analytical assistance and solid reporting to directly inform the owners.

Functions within in this role could include
• Provide functional leadership to the finance department. Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
•Maintain and enhance the finance structure to include staffing of a highly trained team with complimentary technical skills to ensure functions under sound operating procedures
• Oversee all aspects of Accounting & Finance including A/P, A/R, payroll, cash management, inventory, banking, GL, HST, preparation and reporting of consolidated financial statements, preparation of pension statements, and related audits
• Ensure all financial and staff processes are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
• Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Lead annual Budget process and updated forecasts
•Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
•Achieves budget objectives by analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
• Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
• Assists in the preparation of the Resource & Audit financial materials and annual MD&A
• Auditor management and auditor evaluation
•Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
• Complies with legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
• Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in progressive roles focused on budgeting, financial close and reporting, cash management and analytics
• CPA designation required
• Proven track record in delivering timely, accurate results. Strong discipline in metrics tracking and reporting
• Change management abilities with the view of influencing others for change. Driver for results with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to gain credibility with various stakeholder groups.
• Customer focused with demonstrated abilities to manage issues and provide excellent customer service. The proven ability to manage and coordinate competing organizational needs.
• Strong project management, facilitation and team leadership skills. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders
• Must be able to promote initiatives and team work.
• Demonstrated ability to “influence” business decisions where direct line responsibility does not exist
