JOB DESCRIPTION

Our growing Brampton client is looking for TEAM LEAD SHIPPERS AND TEAM LEAD FOR RECEIVING. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years related experience and will e responsible for the following:

Responsible for and supervises the Finished Goods put-away, picking, loading and dispatching by the shipping teams.
* Plans work for the shift, communicates daily inbound or outbound activities such as unloading, put-away, picking and shipping plan to direct reports. Determines how work is to be assigned to the floor, based on daily priorities (picking vs. put away vs. shipping), equipment availability, and space utilization. Meets daily with the employees to communicate the shift's work plan.
* Works in cooperation with the other Supervisors to achieve overall Warehouse objectives. Resolves inter - department business issues collaboratively to ensure effective teamwork.
* Ensures daily KPI's are met, and monitors Operator's and Clerk's performance and productivity on a continuing basis.
* Communicates daily to DC Manager or Material Manager on achievement of shift targets, shift issues (including equipment repairs and facility maintenance) and provides daily production reports at the end of shift.
* Responsible for labour planning and balancing in conjunction with DC Manager or Material Manager.
* Reviews performance of temporary employees at the end of two months and makes a recommendation to Human Resources regarding retaining or dismissing the employee.
* Responsible for effective teamwork and guiding employees to achieve targets.
* Disciplines employees in a timely manner and deals with first stage grievance issues.
* Ensures employees receive the training or coaching necessary.
* Trains and provides coaching to employees.
* Conducts employee performance reviews.
* Provides orientation training to new employees.
* Responsible for employee safety on the shift, and for facility security and general safety. Must stay on premises during work hours (excluding lunch).
* Communicates daily with the other shift(s) to ensure effective continuity of work. This requires arriving early to transition work from the other shift.
* Monitors MHE to ensure it is well maintained; arranges for timely repairs.
* Assists Customer Service in dealing with and resolving customer issues and / or backorders.
* Ensures orderly and proper housekeeping within the department through the involvement of all team members.
* Recommends improvements in work procedures to improve productivity, safety, quality and efficiency.
* Monitors quality of FG products, put-away, picked, and informs Quality Assurance of issues (BOM does not match, missing hardware, etc. or informs Inventory Control of stocking errors).
* Supports and follows company policy and ensures it is followed by employees.
* Ensures each work station is prepared for the next shift.
* Monitors equipment to ensure it is well maintained; arranges for timely maintenance and repairs.
* Monitors employee time and attendance.
* Other duties as may be assigned.
Education:
* High school or College Diploma, Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Accounting
* Industry certification such as CITT certification an asset
* Minimum five (2-3)+ years in a DC / warehousing / cold storage lead-hand / supervisory role

Please note this position can be straight Continental Days or Nights
Hourly Rate $25/HR plus benefits. Please note that this is a permanent position.
