Classification: Payroll Administrator

Compensation: $25.00 to $33.00 hourly

Our client requires a Payroll Analyst/Implementation Specialist to assist them for a 1-year contract which will be renewed on a 3-month basis. As the Payroll Analyst/Implementation Specialist your duties will include the following: identifying and translating business requirements into actionable work plans through to systems implementation; identifying any issues or opportunities which arise form client queries; gathering and documenting business requirements; working with Payroll Manager to define project timelines and proactively raise risk/issues to timelines, functionality or operational readiness; creating and/or modifying SOP(Standard Operating Procedure) and other process related documentation (flowchart, narrative, etc.); preparing training materials for the new system; preparing communication and engaging stakeholders for organizational roll out of the system implementation; managing business improvements through the identification, analysis and documentation of gaps between current and desired end state payroll processes and identifying opportunities for standardization, simplification and process automation, as well as individuals responsible for tasks within current payroll processes. In addition, the Payroll Analyst/Implementation Specialist will be responsible for conducting functionality testing (sandbox, UAT); creating testing scenarios, providing functional guidance on testing scenarios, logging issues resulting from testing; backfilling resources on payroll operational and project initiatives as required; assisting in balancing and reconciliations of the T4 slips, T4A slips and NRA; assisting with completion of ad hoc payroll projects by conducting research, producing relevant data and performing analysis as needed with potential alternative solutions; participating on project initiatives as a subject matter expert; working well with diverse groups to achieve common goals and objectives that meet operational effectiveness and corporate service standards and participating as a member of a cross-functional team. The ideal candidate is someone who has been a lead on a Payroll software implementation, specifically in PeopleSoft. Previous exposure utilizing PeopleSoft full cycle payroll operations with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (specifically v-lookups, pivot tables and formulas) is mandatory.
