The Digital Revenue Optimization team at CBC Media Solutions department is focused on conscientious, accountable campaign management for Canada's national broadcaster. 

The opportunity

The Digital Revenue Optimization team is looking for a driven and passionate Manager, Digital Ads Operations. This is an opportunity to guide the work of the ad operations group, including on-site technical specialists and cross-country sales teams; a leadership opportunity to hire and nurture a growing team. It’s a chance to work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to improve operational efficiency, integrate new technologies, and ensure the best processes are in place.

How you will make a difference, you will:

  • Lead the team. You will provide mentorship, coaching direction, formal performance evaluation, and access to professional development.
  • Champion the work of the team. You will remove roadblocks and gain recognition for achievements. You will represent the team at stakeholder meetings and present information from all aspects of our sector and beyond (ad tech, Inventory, operations, new initiatives, guidelines, policies, etc.) to guide future decisions.
  • Manage team performance. You will ensure the continuous evolution of the team through key hiring initiatives, ongoing improvement of workflow, adoption of new technologies, and empowerment of individuals to do their best work.
  • Establish inventory policies. You will develop and roll out inventory procedures based on trends, seasonal changes, and spikes, controlling quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Develop and document new business processes. You will stay up-to-date with industry trends and requirements. You will support sales strategies for new ad formats and maintain business relationships with other departments involved in the sales and trafficking process as well as in the technical process. 
  • Provide solutions. You will offer expert advice and guidance to internal departments regarding marketing projects, ad format practices, procedures, and deadlines to ensure revenue is maximized and retained.
  • Project management. You will ensure corporate deals are executed and respected. You will oversee QA of the end-to-end project management from the technical implementation to the inventory allocation and the booking and trafficking perspective. 
  • Improve existing platforms, tools, processes, and technology. You will collaborate with stakeholders to provide scalable improvements to the digital ad operations infrastructure.

What you bring:

  • The education. You have a degree in e-Commerce, Business, or Marketing. 
  • The expertise. You have 3+ years of experience in digital advertising at an agency or a media company. You have contributed to ad sales strategies. You have general sales and marketing knowledge and you are familiar with the established standards in the advertising industry (IAB).
  • The technical skills. You have hands-on exposure to digital advertising platforms, specifically Google Ad Manager. You have an understanding of ad coding with HTML5 and Javascript; of video players for web and mobile.

You have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational, and problem-solving skills. You can balance multiple projects simultaneously and execute decisions independently.
