Our client is looking for a Junior Project Manager to join their team. In this role you will plan and evaluate the progress of projects from concept to delivery to ensure each stage - procurement, production, shipping, and installation - is processed efficiently from start to finish.

As the new Junior Project Manager, you will:

  • Manage to project success. You will prepare project summaries and establish a plan for each phase of the project while constantly working to improve processes and work efficiency.
  • Deliver projects on time and to budget. You will obtain accurate costs to estimate each project. You will prepare purchase requisitions for components and negotiate with vendors to ensure the best possible purchase price while identifying all issues that are critical to budget management, the timeline, and performance to mitigate any problems as quickly as possible.
  • Document. You will develop accurate summary sheets and production outlines for all active projects. 
  • Build and nurture relationships. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, clients and vendors to serve as the main channel of information across each project. 
  • Provide accurate and consistent project reporting. You will prepare and present status reports, change requests and budget updates to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all information, changes, and progress is recorded in an accurate and timely manner. 

As the new Junior Project Manager, you have:

  • The education and experience. You have a diploma or degree in a relevant discipline as well as 1-2 years or more of PM or management experience related to manufacturing or production.  A project management certificate - PMP or other - is an asset.
  • The technical skills. You have an understanding of order processing systems for planning, budget and capacity tracking, as well as for managing timelines and resources. You are proficient in Excel. The ability to read CAD drawings is an asset.
  • Exceptional communication. Your communication skills - written, and verbal - are outstanding. You are well-spoken and can build internal and external relationships across any level of an organization. You are comfortable talking to teams, giving presentations and discussing your project timelines. 
  • The ability to solve problems quickly. You can conduct evaluations, assessments, and analysis of new projects, innovate solutions to problems and present alternatives when needed.
