The Financial Business Analyst will be a business partner and responsible for providing financial analysis to support various business units. This role monitors operational and financial trends in order to help formulate business strategies and provide financial insight to key organizational stakeholders. This is an opportunity with a great deal of cross-functional and leadership visibility as you will partner across the business to further develop financial and operational performance measures.



  • Analyzes monthly divisional, regional and functional operational reports, financial statements and operating expenses
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly internal operational and financial reporting using various tools (Excel, PowerPoint, B.I. tools)
  • Strategic thinking and operations financial forecasting with deep dive and scenario analysis
  • Financial and operational data consolidation and validation
  • Ability to identify areas for improved operational efficiency by combining your financial acumen with your passion for understanding our operations
  • Identify root cause drivers of operating variances and provide recommendations to mitigate as a result of building a good understanding of our operational environment
  • Drive forward on internal controls by taking accountability for ensuring full implementation of policies & controls in partnership with operations team
  • Prepares and presents at Strategy meetings on analysis and Financials, provides both qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Assists operations team in gathering data from varies sources, generating reports and prepare analysis for the purpose of existing and/or new business locations; calculates operational and financial profitability
  • Develops, prepares and maintain productivity and efficiency analysis for the various operational groups
  • Develops financial proformas to support capital expenditure requests (CER) for new/ renewal of leases, and work with operations to identify capital investments while utilizing discounted cash flow analysis to calculate net present value and discounted rate of return (internal rate of return)
  • Prepares and monitors all capital expenditure requests and related expenditures
  • Analyzes operational metrics, revenues, operating expenses, gross profit components on a monthly basis and reports significant variances
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members in operations by building credibility and understanding varied perspectives on issues and opportunities
  • Generates ad hoc analysis reports as needed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned

  • Must have Strong/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of operational and/or financial accounting an asset
  • Contributes to building a positive team dynamic, and to support efforts to succeed
  • Ability to manage and validate large amounts of data, and translate this data into relevant business information
  • Proven analytical skills with a natural interest toward analytical activities and investigation
  • Aptitude toward systems and process improvements and re-engineering
  • Process improvement and/or automation experience in the planning and analysis area is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and the ability to present ideas in a user friendly format
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks; seeks help when needed
  • Ability to effectively transfer knowledge
  • Ability to absorb and retain information quickly and to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Easily adapts to changes, delays, or unexpected events in the work environment
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities
  • Knowledge of operational and/or financial accounting an asset
  • Understanding of ABC policies, philosophy, goals and objectives in order to affect financial oversight in protecting the company's assets
  • Working knowledge of accounting and planning software packages
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Flexibility in work hours will be required during peak periods, which may be somewhat unpredictable due to the nature of the team’s role
