Compensation: $45000.00 to $50000.00 yearly

This Accounting Clerk position available through Robert Half Finance might be for you, if you're looking to grow your career with a thriving company. A reputable business is searching for an Accounting Clerk to handle matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This full-time Accounting Clerk position is located in the Hamilton, Ontario, area. This position comes with terrific benefits, a wonderful work space/office, and a dynamic team culture.

Major responsibilities

- Handle general accounting tasks: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

- Reconcile discrepancies, and prepare correction documents as needed, by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts

- Support Accounts Receivable by processing daily invoices/credit, applying cash receipts, and helping with collection of past due balances

- Add financial information to journals and ledgers

- Handle accounts payable tasks: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

- Create statements and reports that require the use of a number of sources

- Accurately code documents with expenditure codes and accounting codes

- Assist with other related duties and special projects as assigned
Job Requirements
- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

- 2+ years of accounting experience required

- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

- Bank reconciliations experience preferred

- Proficiency in Bank Account Reconciliation

- Proven knowledge of Ledger Account Reconciliation

- Daily Reconciliation experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation

- Well-founded grasp of Ledger Reconciliations

- Expertise in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

- Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized
