As part of its agreements with its various clients, Procom is currently seeking a project administrator for a company in the insurance sector. Our client is located in Halifax.

Job Details - Project Administrator

The Project Administrator is responsible for utilizing IT Project Management tools to track projects, resource assignments, time entry, schedule and cost. They are primarily responsible for supporting and maintaining the accuracy of ~900 project resources, which includes performing updates for on-boarding and off-boarding contractors and employees. The Project Administrator may also assist Program and Portfolio Managers in monitoring and maintaining the portfolio budget and updating individual project budgets / forecasts. The individual must have very strong MS Excel & PowerPoint skills with working knowledge of advanced functions (lookups, data manipulation, pivots, and macros).

This role will report to the Project Administration Lead but will work with project managers and team member within the organization.

In this position, the resource will assist with the financial reconciliation across IT project management tools, vendor invoices, and Finance accounting systems. The Project Administrator will play a key role supporting a multi-million IT Portfolio across 50+ IT Projects.

His responsibilities include :

- To maintain the currency and accuracy of IT Resource Headcount;

- To manage daily updates to MS Project Server for resource onboarding/off-boarding, and to resource assignments;

- To troubleshoot and to support MS Project Server issues and the MS Project Server user community;

- To monitor and to report weekly on time entry and approval compliance;

- To create training materials and deliver training for end users on IT Project Management tools;

- To assist with creating and reviewing Executive reporting;

- To assist Program and Portfolio Managers in monitoring individual project and portfolio budget;

- To assist with generating portfolio reporting, including overall health of project financials and resourcing.

Mandatory Skills – Project Administrator

- 1 to 3 years of overall professional experience;

- Bachelor’s degree; BS in Computer Science or Business Administration (an asset);

- Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills; MS Project experience (an asset);

- Working knowledge of MS SharePoint and Data Visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerPivot);

- Well organized, with the ability to control and analyze large sets of data;

- Strong written and verbal communication skills;

- Self-directed, ability to learn quickly and multi-task;

- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to interact with numerous Project Managers and Resources.
