Boarding Specialist, Level I
Job Description

As a boarding specialist you will be expected to resolve any onboarding tasks that are requested of you in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to requesting BETs (Billing Element Table), responding to and working on requests that come into the department's email inbox. Additional duties include association code creation and maintenance, as well as submitting lease requests, and any follow up requests.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and manually processing automated records that failed automation.
  • Locate Public Records on persons and businesses (ex: Lexis, Online look ups)
  • Submit lease applications to FDGL (First Data Global Leasing), based on pre-defined guidelines.
  • Build and set up new merchant account and terminal files.
  • Build Gateways, Mobile Solution accounts, Wireless setup activations, Software data sheets with respect to Service Level Agreement
  • Review application pricing and escalate unusual or non-applicable priced items with consideration for the business and our relationships with the partners and customers.
  • Request new BETs creation as needed.
  • Ensure full utmost quality and accuracy for merchant processing accounts.
  • Place detailed shipment order instructions for Warehouse including billing details.
  • Research, identify and resolve issues while ensuring timely and effective resolution of any request.
  • Handle main inbox inquiries/escalations from various departments.
  • Any additional task as assigned by management.


Qualifications (skills/experience)

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent relevant experience
  • A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role, technical skills required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both written and spoken
  • Strong organizational skills, with proven experience prioritizing work and handling several projects at one time
  • Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, efficiency and ability to take ownership of results
  • Resourceful person that can take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal, business communication, and time management skills
  • A strong focus on detail and accuracy of work
  • Experience with TSYS systems & process is an asset
  • Intermediate user of MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)


Working Language

  • English (written and spoken) is the language used 99% of the time, as work colleagues and clientele are both geographically dispersed within and outside of Quebec.
  • Internal communications between colleagues occur in English or in French, depending on the parties involved. Strategic suppliers are located outside of Quebec.
  • A basic knowledge of French is required for any position located within Quebec. English is required for this position, as it could report to someone outside of Quebec, and requires frequent out of province communications.
