This opportunity ensures you will be part of a dynamic team for career growth. The Payroll Administrator provides a short term temporary role from its Winnipeg, Manitoba location. Responsibilities - Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads - Exercise review and verification of source documents - Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes - Supporting all internal and external audits related to payroll - Guarantee company compliance with federal and provincial regulations and guidelines - Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data - Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential - Maintain all updates of payroll records by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Manage issues related to employee deductions and other liabilities, including reconciling - Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports - Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments - Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies - Answer questions and requests related to payroll information - Perform other tasks as necessary
Job Requirements
Requirements of the position: - Accurate, swift, data entry abilities - 3+ years of payroll experience - Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills - Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen - Prior experience working with accounting software - Comprehensive knowledge of payroll - Foundational knowledge in union payroll - Strong familiarity with multi-provincial payroll - In-house payroll experience preferred - Payroll for over 500 employees experience highly desired - Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred - Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular - Mastery of internal controls - Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements - Proficient with high volume multi-provincial payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. If this profile sounds like you, please submit your resume today!
