Talentcor is working exclusively with an industry-leading integrated media company that is seeking a VP of Sales & Marketing. The portfolio of this award-winning publishing house and content agency consists of local and national magazines, digital, social and custom content creation, as well as high-profile special events. This company is one of Western Canada's largest and most celebrated independent content companies and is seeking a visionary and collaborative sales and marketing leader to take it into the next frontier of this business.

Working directly with the CEO, publishers and sales & marketing teams both in Calgary and Edmonton, the individual in this key role will work to systematically improve sales processes and outcomes through budget, timeline and results metrics. They will lead, grow and inspire the already established and high performing sales teams. As a visionary leader, they will provide strategic sales and marketing leadership while also identifying and generating new sales opportunities. The successful candidate’s outstanding talent for analyzing and generating new strategies for business growth will inspire these teams and in turn increase revenue.

The Ideal Candidate has: 
  • An extensive background in sales & marketing leadership roles – 8+ years in advertising, direct marketing or a creative industry is preferred
  • Experience in executing the complete sales cycle on mid-sized to large deals, as well as multi-year contracts
  • A proven history of outstanding sales performance for the full sales life cycle: from creation to negotiations to closing
  • A demonstrated ability to analyze, forecast and manage budgets, targets and timelines, both personally and for sales & marketing teams
  • The ability to create and implement innovative advertising sales and sponsorship programs
  • Strong relationship-building skills in order to leverage current networks and contacts within the Calgary and Edmonton markets as well as develop new avenues for growth and connection
  • The ability to be an engaging public speaker who is excellent at motivating, inspiring and leading a dynamic sales & marketing team
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to collaborate easily with various team members and think BIG!
  • Passion and positivity, and is someone who thrives on the success of the team, bringing high energy and a sense of humour to their job
