Our not for profit client has an immediate need for an Interim Director of Finance for a 14 to 18 months maternity leave coverage. As a senior member of the management team, the Director of Finance will direct the accounting department including developing policies and procedures, internal control procedures, monitoring financial performance across the institution, ensuring maintenance of accounting records in accordance with legal and professional standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for the Foundation, and Endowment Trust. This position supervises accounting, administration, HR and the Director of IT. This person must be detailed oriented yet be able to move easily and swiftly in an environment of ever changing multiple priorities. Responsibilities include the accounting functions including full cycle accounting, month end, audit, budgets, forecasts, management reporting, policies & procedures, treasury, and cash flow management. During the term of this assignment you will also be involved in developing the strategic plan.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a designated accountant CPA, (CA/CGA/CMA) with 5+ years of experience and a solid accounting background in a not for profit organization. You are very hands on and can manage financial accounting & reporting, fund accounting, IT and operations. You work well in a values based culture, have excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills and work well independently.
