  • Journeyman Pipefitter/Boilermaker or Technologist with equivalent experience;
  •     
  • 5+ years of experience in a static equipment/piping planning and scheduling role in the Petrochemical industry
  •     
  • Experience with the planning of static equipment inspection work eg. Vessels, heat exchangers, fixed and fluid bed reactors, fin fans etc ;
Responsibilities: 

        
  • Responsible for the safety performance of any assigned personnel during turnaround execution.
  •     
  • Planning/scheduling of all activities related to the inspection and testing of static equipment and mechanical equipment during the turnaround.
  •     
  • Planning/scheduling of all activities related to piping/valve cleaning, repair or replacement during the turnaround.
  •     
  • Conducts field verifications to confirm work described in the work submission document and develops detailed work scope for repairs to any identified static equipment, piping jobs, mechanical equipment and/or components.
  •     
  • Work with the instrumentation and electrical planners to identify all job steps and crafts needed to execute static/mechanical/support trades work within the instrumentation/electrical work packages and insures that these steps and crafts are incorporated into the plan and schedule.
  •     
  • Prepare job plans with optimized job task logic and craft requirements for all approved static equipment, piping and mechanical equipment turnaround jobs to achieve turnaround premises including low cost and safety performance.
  •     
  • Ensures all job plans are in compliance with th environmental plan (waste disposal, lead/asbestos abatement, frac tanks, vac trucks, etc).
  •     
  • Work with SCM and outside vendors to obtain labor and parts pricing and any required shop time for static equipment, piping jobs and mechanical equipment.
  •     
  • Identifies all needed materials required for all static/mechanical equipment and piping packages. Insures that these items are ordered and received in accordance with the Turnaround Materials Management Plan.
  •     
  • Prepare budgets for all static equipment, piping, mechanical equipment scopes of work items including on-site and outside shop repairs and ensure the preparation and issuance of all required Purchase Orders.
  •     
  • Work with the turnaround team in the development of the turnaround logistics plan.
  •     
  • Serve as a liaison between Turnaround Planning and the Project team for all static, mechanical & piping matters related to capital projects and ensure optimum plan/schedule integration.
  •     
  • During turnaround field execution, is responsible for coordinating and updating daily progress to the P6 work schedule, including all off-site static/mechanical/piping shop repairs.
  •     
  • Functions as a static/piping/mechanical focal point during turnaround field execution, understanding the P6 work schedule and drives the schedule to an efficient and highly effective execution.
  •     
  • Assist with work scope challenge for identified static, piping and mechanical scopes of work.
  •     
  • Assist the routine & preventative maintenance representatives in establishing optimum scopes and cost estimates for non-turnaround static/piping/mechanical work.
  •     
  • Focal point for all static/piping/mechanical related communications with the Turnaround Team.
  •     
  • Conducts job plan and schedule assessments in order to establish an optimal plan to achieve turnaround premises including low cost and safety performance.
  •     
  • Identification, review and escalation of high risk activities.
  •     
  • Ensures compliance to standards, policies and procedures.
  •     
  • Responsible for schedule compliance reporting on a daily basis.
  •     
  • Provides a critique of static/piping/mechanical related turnaround activities after completion of the turnaround.
  •     
  • Works with lead scheduler to optimize the master turnaround schedule.
  •     
  • Maintain strong relationship with entire team during times of high energy and stress.
  •     
  • Management of turnaround files and records related to instrumentation work scope.
 Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment;
  •     
  • Fluent speaking and writing in English;
  •     
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  •     
  • Journeyman Pipefitter/Boilermaker or Technologist with equivalent experience;
  •     
  • 5+ years of experience in a static equipment/piping planning and scheduling role in the Petrochemical industry;
  •     
  • 5+ years of experience in executing turnarounds;
  •     
  • Experience with the execution of piping work packages (eg understanding ITPs, testing procedures, code requirements etc.);
  •     
  • Experience with the planning of static equipment inspection work eg. Vessels, heat exchangers, fixed and fluid bed reactors, fin fans etc ;
  •     
  • Familiar with the planning of rotating equipment packages;
  •     
  • Experience with the various valve configurations and repair technologies;
  •     
  • A minimum of 1 year experience and intermediate skill level in scheduling using Oracle Primavera P6 (V7 or greater);
  •     
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook;
  •     
  • Experience with Content Server or Livelink, MS Visio, Maximo, PowerPoint, Smartplant PID (SPID) considered an asset;
