Design Group Staffing is currently recruiting for a Transportation Engineer.  Our client, a strong Canadian engineering consulting firm who places their expertise into Canadian based projects is looking to add a Transportation Engineer to their team in Northeast BC. Main Responsibilities

The Transportation Engineer will work on a variety of tasks and projects, while simultaneously learn new skills and invest in their personal development. You will work autonomously to completes tasks and projects with minimal supervision. You will be required to work on important projects, providing you with the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the company seeing projects through to their completion.

The Transportation Engineer will report to the Area Manager, and working closely with planners, engineers and technologists be involved in the design and technical delivery of transportation projects in the public and private sector. Other responsibilities would include but not be limited to:

  • Facilitating and reviewing quality control and quality assurance.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors and the construction team.
  • Facilitate and monitor all administration contracts relating to projects and tasks.
  • Monitor and review detailed designs, and cost estimating designs and drawings.
  • Facilitate and manage, tender preparations and negotiations.
What’s required from you

  • Undergraduate degree in civil engineering from an accredited post- secondary institution.
  • Registered or eligible to register with EGBC.
  • Min. 5+ years’ experience in geometric design of provincial highways, streets and rural roads.
  • Experience in drainage or roadside safety will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to write technical sections of reports and proposals.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Experience using CAICE is an asset.
  • Proven project management skills.
The individual chosen for this role will be highly creative, professional, hardworking, achievement focused, analytical and organized.  Strong attention to detail, planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.  Must be able to work in Canada without Company sponsorship.
