Technical Lead

On behalf of our client in the Transportation Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Technical Lead.

Technical Lead – Job Description

  • Provide guidance on application development and data migration activities
  • Work with project and support teams to lead and manage the completion of internal integration, data migration, reporting design & development activities
  • Assist project manager and / or functional manager by overseeing application design, development, infrastructure, configuration and deployment.
  • Ensure appropriate implementation of non-functional requirements.
  • Work with server and network manager and manage the completion of server and network deployment
  • Collaborate with different technology teams
  • Act as the liaison between business subject matter experts, vendors and IT
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to technical team members
  • Provide updates to functional and project manager regarding personal activities and progress
  • The candidate must comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and health & safety policies and procedures in the workplace.
  • While primarily based in one location, the role will require occasional travel between various locations in or around Toronto, including industrial environments. Cost of this travel will not be covered by client.
  • From time to time the role may require overtime or shift work in order to ensure communication with shift-based businesses, timely completion of deliverables, or to support system implementation. Any such shift or overtime work must be approved in advance.

Technical Lead – Mandatory Skills

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a relevant discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years development experience in a Microsoft environment
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical lead role

Technical Lead – Nice to Have Skills

  • Provide technical support during the various phases of QA & acceptance testing, preparation for production implementation, and post-implementation support including application trouble-shooting and performance tuning during the warranty period.
  • Leading the development of technical documentation and end-user training for the components listed above.
  • Follow DevOps and Agile methodology.
  • Develop full stack technology solutions
  • Ability to work with Service Oriented architecture (REST APIs) and integration platforms.
  • This is a highly technical position requiring candidates with strong communication skills and current development skills.
  • Must possess well-developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to present complex technical issues in simple visuals and language for non-IT consumers
  • Understanding of integration patterns and Microsoft BizTalk in particular
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database systems
  • Must possess strong planning, organization, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
  • Transit route planning system experience will be considered as an asset
