The Tax Treasury Manager will work in a challenging, fast-paced and dynamic environment, reporting to the Director, Risk, Tax Treasury, the Manager utilizes expertise in Canadian and US tax to guide our fast-paced company through increasingly complex tax rules and regulations, and contributes to company?s success by impacting business decisions. The incumbent will assist in the development of tax strategies, while also providing support on all aspects of tax and treasury operations activities, tax accounting, tax compliance, cash management and cash reporting and forecasting. This role is based in our corporate head office in Vancouver, BC. Key Responsibilities - Manage tax matters for Canada, US, and various foreign jurisdictions - Coordinate tax filing and reporting matters for all government levels of compliance - Coordinate tax related requirements during annual audit and tax audit process - Perform tax research, ensuring consistency with tax and regulatory requirements - Prepare current and future income tax calculations for financial reporting, assist in tax budgeting and forecasting - Calculate and manage tax instalment payments, withholding tax matters - Coordinate transfer pricing planning, implementation, and documentation process - Review tax implications of new transactions, including tax structure, tax due diligence - Identify, and assist with implementation of tax planning opportunities, drive process efficiencies, quality improvements, and risk minimization strategies related to foreign operations. - Monitor current and proposed, US and foreign, tax law changes to identify and assess impact on the organization - Develop and maintain a good documentation system for tax, treasury and insurance records - Advise and support business teams in tax related issues and day-to-day operations - Compile periodic cash flow reports, prepare cash budgeting and forecasting - Support hedging functions, including monthly hedging report preparation and annual hedging strategy preparation - Contribute to the global cash management strategy - Assist in all treasury and banking related matters as requested - Provide support on special analyses and projects as directed
Job Requirements
-Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax laws, additional US tax laws knowledge or strong desire to expand knowledge in this area preferred -Experience in transfer pricing and related documentation preferred -Strong tax research skills -More than 5 years in Canadian and/or U.S. tax compliance, tax accounting, research experience with progressive responsibility -Proactive and results oriented with intellectual curiosity -Strong analytical skills, able to understand and interpret data -Attention to detail, self-starter, and strong problem-solving skills -Holds Canadian or US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) -Bachelors in Finance or Accounting -Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritizing and multitasking -Minimum of five years of federal and state corporate income tax experience -Experience in accounting for income taxes of US multinational groups -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines -Relevant work experience in finance and treasury -Excellent communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills -Strong computer skills, including high level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, and work knowledge on Microsoft Word and PowerPoint -Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices if this sounds like a position for you please contact Mitchell Collins at [Click Here to Email Your Resume] quoting job number "05060-0010900960"
