Compensation: $150000.00 to $175000.00 yearly

Are you seeking employment as a finance professional? Qualified applicants might be interested in this Tax Director role with a company in the Winnipeg, Manitoba area through Robert Half Finance and Accounting. The Tax Director provides the operation of data-driven planning processes and improves upon monthly and quarterly reporting. As the Tax Director you will administer the long-range operating plans to support business initiatives, drive world class strategic and financial planning methods, and develop rolling forecast processes to ensure resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness. You will give explanations for business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments, as well as, provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses. To succeed in this role, you must have a successful track record of providing strategic analyses and recommendations as you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks). Your responsibilities in this role:

- Assist Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process

- Review various corporate tax returns and year-end tax accruals

- Work closely together with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans

- Follow monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources

- Work together with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation and prioritization

- Understand and explain internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending

- Deliver monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required

- Identify ways to minimize the organization's tax liability each year in accordance with current tax laws

- Construct and keep an eye on forecasting reports

- Check performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

Job Requirements
- Ability to simplify complex problems and build solutions

- 10+ years experience with progressively complex private and public tax/audit functions

- Solid understanding of research and planning taxes

- International tax experience preferred

- Demonstrated knowledge of Corporate Tax Compliance

- Income Tax Return experience

- Adeptness in Tax Compliance Processes

- Practical knowledge of Cloud Technologies

- Internal Control experience highly preferred

- Foundational knowledge in Annual Tax Provision

- Deep understanding of provincial taxes

- General familiarity with Tax Audits

- Exceedingly skilled with financial reporting tools

- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, MBA preferred

- Strong presentation skills
