Shop Assembler

Talentcor is recruiting for an energetic candidate for the Shop Assembler role, for one of our major clients in Milton,

Salary: $22/Hour

Skill/

  • Forklift training, crane operation training an asset
  • Working at heights and in confined spaces training an asset
  • Willingness to train for new skills (Apprenticeship 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright, RSE)
  • Good communication skills
  • Paying attention to details to produce a quality product
  • Working quickly and efficiently with safety and quality in mind
  • Open to suggestions for improvement
  • Self-motivated and understands objectives and is proactive in their approach to achieve them. Looks for opportunities to improve upon those objectives. Does not wait to be told what is important or when to take action.
  • Experience or knowledge in welding processes. (Welding certificate per Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) and Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) an asset)
  • Knowledge

  • Strong mechanical aptitude of industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and drawings
  • Experience with heavy industrial equipment and warehouse assembly operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)

    Main Duties:

  • Assembling, fitting and installing prefabricated parts to form sub-assemblies or finished products in accordance with assembly drawings, manuals and/or work order instructions
  • Assembling components as per work orders for specific jobs or sales orders; parts are manufactured elsewhere and need to be assembled to different specifications
  • Working with hand tools, cutting, grinding, welding, lifting (mechanical & manual) to create or assemble components of industrial equipment
  • Daily operation, maintenance and inspection of shop equipment, including those that require applicable certification to operate
  • Site service and installation of in-field components as per project requirements on field service trips
  • Pulling from inventory or receiving specific parts as per work order and making corresponding entries in ERP system (NAV)
  • Matching invoices with receiving documents
  • Assisting with Logistics work as directed (shipping/receiving/warehouse paperwork)
  • Addressing and properly completing Field Level Hazard Assessment Forms (FLHA) as required
  • Filling out all QC documents, issue serial numbers, enter log books and test sheets. Documenting, maintaining qualifications and abiding to Quality standards
  • Maintain shop safety, cleanliness, and proper shop housekeeping at all times
  • Compliance with all shop and regulatory health and safety requirements, including those governed by the applicable province
