Reporting to the Director, Learning & Performance, the Senior Trainer, Learning & Performance is committed to the continuous improvement of our associates’ performance by conducting skills gap analysis, determining learning expectations and outcomes, and designing the methods by which training will take place, in line with adult learning principles. The Senior Trainer will partner with multiple business leaders and Human Resources Business Partners, to execute the training and development strategy and continuously improve processes to achieve excellence. They will be responsible for the design & development of content, the implementation of evaluations and assessments of training efficacy and the delivery of a variety of learning events such as e-modules and the facilitation of live training and webinars to meet the organization’s training needs.


The Senior Trainer will be mainly responsible for the facilitation of skills based training including but not limited to, client conversation model, client management, objection handling, facilitation training, Emotional Intelligence, business acumen related content, storyboarding, etc.

  • Partner with business leaders across the organization to provide advice, guidance and services in the planning of complex training and development activities and work with one or multiple lines of the business in identifying learning and development priorities
  • Translate the enterprise’s needs into practice through training programs and develop a variety of high quality learning materials such as e-modules, live workshops, webinars and programs company-wide including the design and preparation of learning objectives, instructional materials, leader guides and participant materials
  • Test new learning programs with business leaders to gather buy in and validate appropriateness, to ensure the programs addresses the identified gaps and targets the desired impact on the organization
  • Facilitate live training sessions, workshops and webinars and continuously review the methods for delivery of training
  • Integrate adult learning principles and use appropriate standards and development methodologies while aligning with the enterprise’s needs
  • Ensure continual alignment of learning programs to the needs of the organization and seize opportunities for continuous improvement in individual, team, business unit and organizational performance to optimize the impact on the business 
  • Establish strategic plans adapted to the enterprise’s needs that build the capabilities, improve the skills of associates and support their growth and development
  • Measure training programs by establishing and developing various evaluation techniques to determine program effectiveness on an ongoing basis
  • Report on effectiveness of training programs, provide ongoing feedback and report on any trends, training issues and/or concerns as they arise
  • Provide ongoing business coaching and support to associates to reinforce concepts, theories and methodologies taught during training events
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools and techniques to provide cutting-edge and best in class training 
  • Develop processes to ensure training completion and enhanced communication strategies across the organization to support the optimal performance of all associates company-wide
  • Assist with implementation of special projects and other duties as required

  • University degree or equivalent in a related field and/or relevant training professional education or experience required
  • Minimum 8-10 years of facilitation or training related experience
  • Proficiency with Articulate Storyline or other authoring tool and/or LMS an asset
  • This role will appeal to a high energy, results-driven, client focused professional with strong business acumen


  • Knowledge of specialty drugs and/or the pharmaceutical industry is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience to effectively develop learning materials reflecting adult learning principles
  • Effective organizational skills; excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced ability to learn and understand new systems and software
  • Bilingual in French and English in a corporate work environment an asset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications, advanced Power Point skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various leaders within the organization
  • Highly results-oriented, strong ability to consistently meet deadlines and prioritize projects
  • Also requires information search and research skills, analytical and creative problem solving skills, questioning and feedback skills, customer service orientation and commitment to quality, responsibility, high work standards, and initiatives
