We offer financial institutions an elegant, SaaS-based solution to the receipt management problem.  We also provide SDK’s and API’s that make it easy for them to integrate our solution into their own mobile apps, and offer it to their own customers - who use it to capture and manage important receipts for returns, exchanges, expenses, accounting, and taxes.

A day in the life:

  • Guide a cross-functional team (developers, testers, DevOps) to deliver new features, documentation, and bug-fixes for the mobile SDKs and APIs that we provide to customers
  • Mentor and manage individual engineers, helping them hone their craft and improve the way they collaborate with their teammates to deliver high-quality, shippable software
  • Help the team navigate technical challenges, without taking over their ownership of the problem or how to solve it;  take care not to end up in the “driver’s seat” even as you ask provocative questions, point out possibilities, and give critical feedback
  • Lead by example to foster an environment where people feel safe - both to question everything constructively, and to face their mistakes on the way to overcoming them
  • Cultivate and influence continuous improvement both in your team and across Engineering; identify and seize opportunities to improve the way we estimate, plan, develop, test, ship and deploy our software
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination and effective engagement, both within Engineering and across the  company
  • Work with other managers and our Chief Architect to establish and refine the technical strategy for all of Engineering 

A bit about you:

  • Experience providing technical guidance to an Engineering team, helping them ship software which delights customers and end-users, achieving excellence in quality, maintainability and risk-management
  • Experience managing and mentoring individual engineers, helping them succeed, improve and grow their careers both in good times and in more challenging ones
  • Several years of hands-on technical experience delivering commercial software over multiple releases (UX, development, QA, and/or DevOps)
  • Experience with at least one Agile methodology, for example: Scrum, Kanban, Lean Development, SAFe
  • Experience with a variety of Agile technical practices, for example: XP, TDD, Design Patterns, Inversion of Control, CI, CD, test automation, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code 

In a perfect world, you have experience in some of:

  • Cross-platform software
  • Mobile apps for iOS or Android
  • Large-scale SaaS
  • Machine Learning
  • RESTful APIs, JSON
  • NodeJS or another modern JavaScript framework
  • TypeScript

What does the interview process look like?
