Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:


The Sales Specialists provide product category expertise and solutions that deliver growth within the product group by identifying, developing, launching, supporting and executing product programs and initiatives through the AGI selling organization.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

* The Sales Specialist is responsible for selling solutions, delivering value-added services, advancing product and solution knowledge, while building and maintaining external and internal relationships through a specific regional geographic territory
* Establishes close working relationships with the regional and national sales teams, branches, AGI vendors and other specialist in the region or product category(s)
* Proactively identify opportunities and provide solutions to new and existing target customers/markets to expand AGI business
* Provide ongoing product education to customers and AGI selling teams through seminars, training and product demonstrations and events
* Developing sales programs/initiatives based on strategic opportunities for AGI sales groups
* Work with AGI sellers to develop sales strategies for key accounts (areas of focus - annuity, etc)
* Make support and proactive sales calls on external customers with AGI sellers
* Provide technical support on product group, industry knowledge and competitive landscape
* Provide support and coaching to AGI sellers and Branches to help close sales, identify and provide product knowledge for product applications, promote new products and show cost savings



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:


* A minimum of 3 to 5 years related field selling experience calling on the sector is preferred
* Must be analytical, highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively
* A well rounded knowledge of the products and their applications with demonstrated product category expertise
* Dedicated team player with excellent consultative selling, customer service, communication, presentation, organization, and continuous improvement skills
* Professional demeanour and ability to work with all levels externally, as well as internally
* Extremely organized, flexible, proactive and creative
* Proficient computer skills and aptitude
* A post secondary education is preferred
* Possession of a valid license and a suitable vehicle

BASIC REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO ROLE PROGRESSION:


* Demonstrates and excels in all AGI Performance Drivers (Wow The Customer, Have A Winning Attitude, Drive For The Best Results, Make The Team Better)
* Consistently tracking at a minimum of 100% target of sales and gross margin budget
* Actively selling in this role for 1 ½ to 2 years with consistent performance that meets or exceeds expectations
* A PSS champion and leader, with proven ability to lead, coach and mentor Acklands-Grainger sellers
* Strong leadership and coaching skills; derived from mentoring and developing other Acklands-Grainger sellers
* Strong and demonstrated communication skills; effectively expressing ideas, both verbal and written
