Our client, a prominent Internet and fiber optic provider is looking for a Sales engineer to help them achieve new heights in the IT business. If you feel that you have what it takes to tackle the challenge, this is what you need to have and here's a brief summary of your day to day activities.
Job Responsibilities: 
The Sales Engineer will work in collaboration with the sales team to serves customers by identifying their
needs; engineering adaptations of products and services. Responsible for devising ways that products and
services can be designed to fit customers needs. Guide prospect customers in the selection of a wide range of
services including our fiber optic network services, wireless microwave links, colocation in our data centre and
voice over IP services.
A good candidate would be able to serve as a bridge between clients and 
sales and implementations.

Job Duties:
  • Participate in client calls and field engagements with Account Executives to discover needs and present solutions;
  • Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers to understand service requirements. Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests;
  • Translate complex business requirements into technology solutions;
  • Develop and communicate overall solution including high-level solution design, diagrams, plans, and related customer documents; consulting with network engineers, system admins and other professional and technical personnel;
  • Ensure solutions proposed are feasible and easy to implement based on the company’s current infrastructure;
  • Determines improvements in solutions by analyzing service applications in customer environment, engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of services;
  • Gains customer acceptance by explaining benefits of products and adjusting solutions to meet customers needs, or by demonstrating operations improvements or cost reductions;
  • Assist solution deployments by working with the implementations team, providing details on customer solutions and updating solution design documentation;
  • Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives;
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed;
  • Stay up to date with current technologies and solutions. Expected to develop a deep understanding of industry trends and competitive offerings;
  • Operational experience with Juniper routers & switches;
  • MPLS 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • BS, CS, or University degree equivalent plus 5 years; experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or telecommunications support environment.
  • Presentation and confidence to act as the technical authority during the sales process - performing needs assessments, and making recommendations based on the discovered needs; working with a wide variety of stakeholders to gather needed information throughout the process to close the sale.
  • IP Internetworking experience, Routing (VRRP, OSPF, BGP), Switching, MPLS, Traffic Shaping / QoS, etc.
  • Experienced in design, implementation, and support of complex routing and switching deployments.
  • Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment.
  • Deep understanding of fiber optics network design and implementation
  • Proficiency in MS Visio
  • Experience with VoIP solutions
  • Experience in Data Centre operations is an asset (colocation and managed services)
  • Experience in cloud interconnect projects is an asset
  • Knowledge of wireless communications technologies is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
