Sales Account Manager, Plastics, Western Canada
Job Description

Excellent opportunity available for a Sales Account Manager, Plastics!  This is a home-based position and can be located anywhere in Western Canada including:  Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba or Saskatchewan.  This position offers a very competitive base salary, bonus potential, car allowance and comprehensive benefits.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and continue to build upon strong value and solutions oriented relationships with current accounts in the assigned territory.
  • Research, seek out, and develop prospective new relationships to promote solutions, with processors as well as select OEMs.
  • Support Key and Major Account Managers, Market Development and Strategic Business Unit Managers strategies for select accounts.
  • Vigilantly maintain contact with major accounts in territory to ensure company is meeting their needs and exceeding their expectations.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in product offerings and capabilities to determine the best solutions to customer needs and helping them make informed decisions.
  • Maintain expertise in competitor activities, the masterbatch market, and plastics industry in order to proactively drive business growth.
  • Complete all necessary strategic and support work on time including:  pre call plans, call reports, expense reports, updating contact records, appointment scheduling, customer follow-up, etc.
  • Provide Sales Manager with regular itinerary and pipeline reports.
  • Review territory sales performance and expenses with Sales Manager weekly.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or Chemistry
  • Three to five years of plastics industry experience and color concentrate/compounding sales experience with particular emphasis in blow molding and injection molding preferred.
  • Superior customer relationship building skills and experience uncovering unmet needs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills required.
  • Proficient computer skills:  MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Dynamics CRM Customer Relationship Management Software.  Able to leverage technology to conduct business and meetings effectively and efficiently remotely.
  • Must be able to travel overnight up to 50-60% of the time.
  • The preferred geographic location of this position will be in the Alberta area.  The candidate will work out of their home office.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need of future sponsorship.
  • Experience in polymers, polyethylene, colorants, polypropylene, masterbatch, color concentrates, compounds, colourants, colour concentrates, thermoplastics, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE or polyolefins a plus.
