Purpose of the Job:

The Senior Sales Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the profitable growth, quality, and maintenance of the portfolio by providing expert advice, marketing and documentation support.

In addition the Senior Sales Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

  • Preparing all documentation within an assigned region, which at times can include complex, multi-million dollar non-standard transactions.
  • Provide assistance to the Senior Management and/or Account/Agent Managers with structuring, negotiating, and preparing quotations up to but not limited to $3Million.
  • Provide assistance to Management by developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures in order to bring awareness.
  • At all times maintain full awareness of, and comply with Meridian Service Standards, Compliance Regulations, and the Complaint Resolution Standards and Procedures.

Key Responsiblities

1. Documentation

He/she is responsible for documenting all transactions as assigned ensuring all deadlines are met:

  • Once transaction has been agreed to by all parties, he/she is responsible for the preparation of all required leasing documentation including standard Leases, Conditional Sale Contracts, Equipment Finance Contracts, Progress Payment Agreements, and non-standard documentation subject to Meridian OneCap policies and procedures.
  • Ensures each transaction is audited by a second Senior Sales Coordinator (for non-standard transactions) prior to releasing documentation for execution.
  • Prior to requesting any transaction be funded, ensures all documentation is executed by authorized signing officers and all credit and pre-funding requirements (including PPSA registrations completed, insurance confirmation) are met.Generating and preparing funding requisition and arranging payment.
  • Verify Assignment documentation under approved Assignment programs to ensure it falls within the negotiated program guidelines and documentation meets credit and legal requirements.
  • Booking transactions using lease systems in a timely manner and prepares applicable debit memos.
  • Ensures all collateral is processed and sent to Business Service Centre within required timeframes.
  • Suggesting, reviewing, and having General Counsel approve all non-standard documentation to ensure documentation adheres to the terms of the credit authorization, the structure of the deal, and Meridian OneCap’s policies and procedures.

2. Sales and Marketing Support

  • Respond to branch/assignor/customer quotation requests and proposals ensuring all accounting, legal, insurance, taxation issues are properly addressed and risks and requirements presented by certain types of equipment and/or certain types of transactions are covered off by the proposed structure.
  • Prepare Lease vs Buy Analysis to determine the most cost effective method of financing for the customer.
  • Assist in achieving the annual targets for Third Party referral business.
  • Expedite transactions referred to the appropriate channel to ensure service standards negotiated with the Third Party referral source has been met.
  • Suggest use of Progress Payment Agreements, Equipment Finance Contracts, ABC Addendum, or other products appropriate to ensure customer’s requirements are met.
  • Provide back up support to Account/Agent Managers.

3. Operational

  • Assist Management by developing, implementing, and preparing contracts up to but not limited to $3Million
  • Complete volume-tracking sheet on a daily basis providing details on quotes, funded/booked deals.
  • Adhering to the requirements, processes, and guidelines regardingKnow Your Customer, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing, Privacy, Occupational Health & Safety, Guidelines for Business Conduct, and Internet & Electronic Mail Code of Conduct.
  • Assist Account/Agent Managers on special projects whenever necessary.

 
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of administration experience preferably in financial services.
  • Knowledge of leasing industry considered an asset but not required.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding in all forces of business offered (branch referral, vendor referral, broker referral and third party assignments).
  • Strong marketing and selling skills in the direct solicitation and negotiation of equipment financing transactions within these four source area
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Must have a basic understanding of Credit
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively in order to provide solutions to complex transactions
  • Solid understanding of Meridian’s insurance requirements, environmental risks and know when to liaise with the legal department
  • Demonstrate quick turn-around
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Lease Documentation/Accounting Software.
  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills; ability to interact effectively with customers and all levels of staff.
  • Must be able to handle multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service.
  • A confident personality who truly enjoys working with people.
  • Aptitude for mathematics including financial calculations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic, fast paced and demanding environment.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
