Compensation: $65.00 to $95.00 per hour

We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager who has worked in the Oil Gas industry in implementing IT infrastructure projects. Ideally the project manager has extensive experience working with acquisition and divestiture of assets and understands the IT implications. This is a contract position with anticipated duration of 6 months. Worksite: Downtown Calgary The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also validate the project?s objectives, requirements and scope and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. The candidate should have extensive problem solving, collaboration and facilitation skills. The successful candidate will know how to prioritize, react quickly, manage people and respond to project needs with agility and nimbleness. Job Requirements
Responsibilities ? Manage key priority project in a growing organization ? Direct and manage project development from beginning to end ? Define project scope and objectives, deliverables and success factors required to support business goals ? Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders ? Develop full-scale project plans interactively with team members and ensure on-time delivery ? Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and track resource requirements and effort throughout the project ? Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments with IT mgmt. if necessary ? Perform cost estimations, budget control, resource planning and critical path scheduling ? Elicit and manage business and technical requirements and parameters ? Facilitate design and implementation reviews ? Facilitate technical analysis, architecture and testing as required and in alignment with direction from the enterprise architect and director, infrastructure operations ? Proactively manage and communicate changes in project scope or budget, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. ? Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required SMEs from within the company ? Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. ? Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. ? Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. ? Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. ? Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle ? Communicate - Identify and provide potential resolutions to problems, project changes, risks and resource constraints ? Drive performance metrics to evaluate risk, progress, and success ? Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis ? Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work ? Conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities ? Contribute to best practice for project execution and management ? Be flexible but results-oriented. Position Requirements ? University degree or college diploma ? 15+ years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of project development and execution ? 5 years + experience working within IT departments for large publicly traded oil and gas organizations ? Competent and proficient understanding of infrastructure and application related components ? Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential. ? Ability to handle a number of simultaneous priorities while demonstrating urgency and ownership to drive an overall significant and mission-critical project to completion ? Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial. ? Excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team ? Able to write clearly and succinctly in technical and non-technical formats ? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exposure to large-scale systems. ? Has the ability to apply logic and reason to solve complex problems ? Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments. ? Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products ? Customer service skills an asset ? Tenacious
