Project Manager – High-Rise Construction

Design Group Vancouver is looking for a Project Manager to lead the construction of high-rise projects in the Vancouver area, working with a leading developer-builder on marque projects. This team has been successful in constructing world-class projects which shape Vancouver's skyline, and is interested in bringing on a new leader who can successfully lead large-scale projects from inception through to handover. As the organization grows, they are in a position to offer their employees opportunities for development through long-term projects.

This position is based on-site, with office in Burnaby, BC. 

 

Your Challenge:

As the project manager, you will be responsible for developing schedules and planning construction timelines for a landmark high-rise tower, including pre-construction planning and design, budgeting, and facilitating related permits. You have an ability to manage at all stages and levels of the project, including initial bid scopes, managing subcontractors and their contracts, maintaining project schedules, leading meetings and forecasting budgets. The Project Manager will also need to enforce high construction standards and QC, while controlling labor, material, equipment, and site expenses.

As an expert communicator, you are a professional in building and maintaining relationships with clients and vendors, and work effectively with all levels of your project team including other PMs, superintendents, assistants, and site staff. You will lead the efforts of a dedicated coordinator by providing strong leadership and mentoring their development.

 

Your Background:

The successful Project Manager will come from a background constructing multifamily concrete highrise projects with at least 5 years of demonstrated success. Communication and team-building are key for this role, and you will be able to prove your ability to analyze, problem solve, and recommend changes. You are tech-savvy and are accustomed to using different software and project management tools. PMP designation and education in project management, construction, and/or engineering is an asset.
