Design Group Staffing Vancouver is currently searching for a Senior Project Manager - HAZMAT to join our client in the environmental consulting industry located in Richmond. The main responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager - HAZMAT will be to conduct on-site assessments, supervise projects, and schedule resources (contractors) with regards to the services our client offers. As well as motivated team of technical professionals and initiate and manage projects from the proposal stage to completion. Accountabilities: Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: • Prepare proposals for hazardous materials investigations and remediation/abatement work • Performing hazardous materials assessments and preparing assessment reports • Overseeing hazardous materials consulting projects, including assessments, contract preparation, and remediation/abatement work • Preparing contract documents for hazardous materials abatement projects • Financial responsibility for assigned projects • Business Development with both new and existing clients • Supervising, training, and mentoring Project Technologists  • Maintaining and enhancing quality control within the group Requirements: • A degree, diploma, or certificate in Construction Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or a Bachelor of Science or Applied Science • A minimum of 8 years’ of industry experience, with min. 5 years in a project management role • A professional designation (eg PMP, AscT, EP, CSRP, ROH or ROHT.) would be preferred • Strong report writing, reviewing, and editing skills • Experience with the financial aspect of project management along with managing staff and projects • Previous business development experience preferred • Experience with building construction or maintenance • This position requires full motor functions • Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including (if required) respiratory protection devices, disposal clothing, radioactive hazard protective suits, work boots, hard hats, hearing protection, etc. The individual chosen for this role will be highly creative, professional, hardworking, achievement focused, analytical and organized.  Strong attention to detail, planning and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.  All candidates must be able to work in Canada.
