Program Manager

On behalf of our client located in Richmond, Procom is looking for a Senior Program Manager.

General Role(s), Responsibilities and Deliverables:

The Program Manager will be responsible for:

  • Alignment of Value Streams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) with enterprise strategy
  •  Driving high level collaboration and coordination with various business functions
  •  Facilitation of the planning process, collaboratively defining an implementation plan and backlog as well as other continuous improvement initiatives
  •  Development and execution of change management strategies (including change, training and role mapping) to implement continuous improvement initiatives
  •  Development and management of approved budgets on program and team levels
  • Partnering with Finance to lead monthly business reviews and to manage headcount targets
  •  Partnering with Finance and IT relationship management to implement project selection based on organizational value alignment and portfolio level prioritization using Kanban
  •  Identifying best practices and developing mechanisms to drive best practice sharing and a learning organization, continuous improvement, and consistency across the programs
  •  Contributing to enhancing and expanding agile management toolbox
  •  Facilitating issue resolution and/or appropriate escalation
  •  Providing an independent perspective, act as a sounding board for ideas, and provide feedback on internal issues that need addressing.

 Mandatory Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of Agile principles and practices; certifications like CSM or Scaled Agile Framework preferred
  • Knowledge of SAFe, Lean and Systems Thinking is beneficial
  • Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and focus on excellence
  • Highly proactive and highly comfortable with ambiguity
  • High levels of curiosity and passion for learning
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
  • Ability to communicate and champion complex or technical concepts to a broad cross-functional audience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – experience managing teams and engaging with senior leadership
  • Ability to influence others and partner cross-functionally
  • Must be a creative problem solver and have the ability to function in a rapidly changing environment
