Production Supervisor
Job Description

Our client, a major food manufacturing company is looking to add two Production Supervisors to their team. One role is for the day shift and one is for the afternoon shift. The role reports to the Production Manager. The Production Supervisor is responsible for the efficiency of all production activities and to motivate the staff to achieve their goals within a non-unionized environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to be the key person to provide safety guidance, provide reports on production and ensure safety improvement
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality standards and good housekeeping practices
  • Lead the production team to ensure organizational goals are accomplished and KPI’s met
  • Manage and adhere to the production schedule to meet customer expectations and deadlines
  • Achieve high level manufacturing results through effective communication of job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results, coaching, counselling and disciplining employees
  • Manage the implementation of hygiene, HACCP, GPM and food safety of products manufactured
  • Makes continuous improvement recommendations for process /equipment efficiency
  • Proactively works to reduce workplace accidents and incidents on the production lines
  • Be the ambassador of Health & Safety

Job Requirements


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Post-secondary education in Operations management
  • Previous experience in Food manufacturing an asset
  • Previous experience in Pharma or Cosmetics and asset
  • Experience with GMP and HACCP
  • Strong experience with H&S regulations and OHSA
  • Strong computer skills -Outlook, Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, strong people skills
  • Lead by example, focus on results, deadline driven
  • Continuous Improvement focus
