Design Group is currently looking for a Production Scheduler for our client in the Etobicoke area.  Our client is a large manufacturer of plastic bags for large retailers like Walmart and Dollarama. The candidate for this role will be reporting to the Director of Administration and they will be required to schedule the Extrusion and Conversion departments as well as manages the in-process material and finished goods inventories.  The Scheduler needs to have strong communication skills in order to efficiently communicate to various levels within the company and clients.  They will need to perform these tasks in a timely and cost-effective manner ensuring that delivery dates are met and the plant is scheduled to achieve maximum efficiencies.


Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Well organized

  • Detail oriented individual with strong analytical skills

  • A sound knowledge of Excel and Word




  • Cost effective ordering of raw materials and completing inventory checks

  • Roll out new projects to production teams and updating schedule accordingly

  • Create work orders and distribute to the production teams

  • Determine film requirements and schedules extrusion department accordingly.

  • Review daily production reports, investigate and resolve problems, and re-issue schedules as required.



  • Assist with the preparation of monthly projections for extrusion and conversion departments ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Training of new employees

  • Scrutinize new designs to ensure that they are correct, meet plant specifications and are in line with company policy

  • Conflict Management
