Production Scheduler
Job Description

Our client, a food manufacturing company in the Toronto area, is looking to add a Production Scheduler to their team. The role is responsible for the production planning for all products including new products. The planner is responsible for all reports related to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to be the key person managing all production planning based on sales forecasts
  • Ensures the Production Schedule is updated based on any changes that occur using a production management tool
  • In collaboration with management the minimum and maximum supply of ingredients are defined based on the requirement for each finished product
  • Liaises with Procurement to plan for raw materials and packaging to comply with requirements of the production schedule
  • Responsible for the optimization of the equipment, employees and inventory management of the plant
  • Takes an active role in the launching of new products
  • Participates in the physical inventory count maintaining control of inventory turnover, expiration dates etc.
  • Maintains clear communication between associated departments
  • Manages KPI’s providing a weekly report for management



Job Requirements

  • Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a scheduling role with multiple products
  • Post-secondary education in Operations management
  • Previous experience in Food manufacturing an asset
  • Strong understanding of allergens and cross-contamination management
  • Experience production planning process
  • Previous experience with system implementation and asset
  • Strong computer skills -Outlook, Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, strong people skills
  • Experience and Knowledge of ISO and HACCP concepts
  • Previous experience in the optimization of production lines
