LucasWorks is currently recruiting for a Senior Plant Accountant for one of our leading manufacturing clients.
What is involved?
  • Assist/Approve in preparing monthly journal entries for various accounts
  • Assist in the process of updating new standards and budget preparation for the New Year
  • Review, report and investigate costing variances from production documents and purchased receipts on a weekly basis
  • Coordinate costing requests to costing department on weekly basis  and attend weekly meetings
  • Prepare/Approve product costing for existing customers and new formulas
  • Prepare financial reporting packages and monthly PPV reports in excel format
  • Preparation/review of monthly account analysis, including reconciliations, gathering backup documentation and referencing
  • Working in compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Policies/SOP’s including but not limited to the Safety Responsibilities Procedure.
  • Will comply with Good Manufacturing Practices in all GMP sensitive areas
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Ensure intercompany accounts remain balance
 
What is required?
  • College or University diploma/degree in accounting or business; or experience working for a mid to large size Company.
  • Preference will go to those with experience in a Manufacturing industry
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V- Lookups, advanced formulas).
  • Experience with ERP software and demonstrated working understanding and knowledge of systems and databases as related to the role; experience in system changes/migration and upgrade is highly valued
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial reporting, and financial analysis including GAAP, accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management
  • Demonstrated leadership and developmental skills, along with the proven ability to mentor and train others
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with good time management skills, manage multiple priorities at once.
