Who we need

We are adding a Service Technician to our team in Mississauga. We need someone with experience caring for individuals with unique mobility needs; be it as a Personal Support Workerparent, Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist Assistant, Teaching Assistant or as a Camp Counsellor. We need someone who builds trust easily with both children and their parents; someone who puts them at ease while their mobility equipment is being repaired or adjusted. 

Who you are

You’re a compassionate, hands-on problem solver eager to use your mechanical prowess to fix mobility equipment for pediatric clients. A roll-up-your-sleeves type of person, you’re flexible when it comes to working on-site at schools, our client’s homes, and clinics and are willing to go the extra mile for your customers. An empathetic listener, curious problem solver and friendly communicator, you are ready to provide outstanding customer service to every Motion client.

What you will do:

Our clients put their trust in Motion to ensure that their mobility devices are safe and functioning properly. Our service technicians serve our clients by providing on-site and in-home repair and set-up for mobility devices, from walkers to wheelchairs to standers.

  • Diagnose and repair. You will deliver, install and repair custom mobility equipment across the Peel Region; traveling to schools, daycares, clinics, and client’s homes to best serve our pediatric clientele. This may include but is not limited to:
    • Assessing and troubleshooting issues clients may be having with their device
    • Making mechanical adjustments and repairs to mobility devices
  • Deliver a Motion customer experience. Our service technicians are the face of our company, delivering outstanding customer experiences every day. Through honest, empathic, respectful and friendly interactions with our customers, you will build long-lasting, trusting relationships. You will ensure that client needs are met and that we meet our objective to make life accessible.
  • Be flexible and mobile. You will spend your days traveling to different sites and client’s homes in the Peel Region. 

What you bring:

  • The experience. You are knowledgeable in the home medical equipment and/or knowledgeable and have experience in the home health care field. Ideally, you have an educational background that’s exposed you to caregiving and personal support worker experience. 
  • The problem-solving ability. You’re a wizard when it comes to fixing mechanical challenges and want to apply your expertise to fix everything from seatbelts to wheels and straps. An avid troubleshooter, you are innovative and efficient in your approach to solving problems.
  • Empathy. You know the importance of a strong bedside manner, particularly when working with children and their families and want to provide compassionate customer service to our customers. You are someone who can navigate any situation in a friendly, professional and empathetic manner.
  • Willingness to learn. You thrive in an environment where you work with your hands and are able to pick up new skills quickly. Through mentorship and training, we will provide you with all the tools and resources to be successful as our new Service Technician. As you master your role you can grow your career as a Senior Service Technician, Sales Consultant or other Client Care roles at Motion.
  • Additional must-have requirements. You are able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds in order to move or repair equipment and devices.  You have a valid G class driver's license and clean driving record; travel to client sites is required however you will be provided with a company vehicle. You have a clean criminal background check and are bondable.
