The Payroll Coordinator position is a temporary to permanent opportunity based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. What you get to do every day - Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies - Answer questions and requests related to payroll information - Perform other tasks as necessary - Manage and review, including verify, source documents - Manage employee deductions and other liabilities - Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities - Handle payroll record updates by keeping changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers - Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll - Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence - Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation - Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines - Report needed changes after maintaining payroll operations according to established policies and procedures - Execute relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to circulate amongst department heads - Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate would be/have: - Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen - Knowledgeable about internal controls - Solid understanding of payroll - Expertise in Ceridian required - Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills - Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll - Preference will be given to Certified Payroll Professional - Previous experience handling high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc. - Previous experience using accounting software - Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required - Expertise in federal and state payroll regulations and requirements - General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred If you are interested in this role, please click 'apply now' or alternatively send your resume to [Click Here to Email Your Resume]
