PARTS PERSON - TEMPORARY

Location: Edmonton, AB

Are you excited by the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment? If so, then Southland Transportation has the perfect opportunity for you! This position is a full-time temporary opportunity with a possible end date of March 1, 2020.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Shop Management and systems such as Web Fleet Assist to ensure all inventory sites are properly stocked and maintained
  • Work in WFA to generate purchase orders and generate work orders for external vendor services and receive invoices for processing
    • Manage inventory to repair fleet of school buses
    • Outsource and order parts in for repair, send parts out to other locations
    • Receive and stock parts (may require using a ladder)
    • Complete parts returns, transfers and Core returns, send Cores out for credit
    • Conduct weekly cycle counts to manage inventory
    • Re-count each part in a section (shelf) up to 6 bins per week
  • Shipping and receiving of parcels to be sent out via Purolator and other service providers, packaging parcels and arranging for pick up
  • Various other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 - 5 years of related experience
  • Practical exposure to a parts department
  • Experience with maintenance software, specifically Web Fleet Assist, considered an asset
  • Familiarity with conducting formal inventory counts
  • Valid driver's license (class 2 or 3 ideal)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read and comprehend parts and service manuals
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with shop staff and trades
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented, culturally diverse workforce
