Parts Coordinator

Location: Whitby, ON

PWTransit is looking for a full-time temporary Parts Coordinator to join our team in Whitby. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Parts Coordinator is responsible for the overall function of the warehouse and activities required to fulfill the maintenance requirement while managing a cost effective, accurate and efficient inventory and efficiency of staffing. The effective scheduling of the maintenance function ensures that downtime is kept to a minimum and for the effective execution of all fleet maintenance by controlling the planning and scheduling of service intervals to prevent safety hazards, increase equipment longevity and minimize vehicle downtime.

Coordinating with other individuals is essential to this task, i.e. with the Shop Foreman to have all parts available before removing the bus from service.

Qualifications:

Education and Related Work Experience

  • Post-secondary education
  • Planning / scheduling, computer literate, mechanical / electrical back ground apprenticeship program and / or technical school desirable
  • At least one year of experience in inventory control preferably in the Trucking / Transportation industry
