Operations Processing Representative
Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

As part of the Operations team, the Operations Representative will be accountable for processing Meridian’s lending and investment products and clearing and electronic payments and be backup for motus operations as needed. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring all transactions are processed with a high level of accuracy and with maximum efficiency in accordance with the Operations vision of being recognized as a Centre of Excellence.  This role is required to work extended hours.

The Operations Representative is responsible for maintaining high standards of Member service, contributing to quality control and operational efficiency within Operations that contribute to a positive Member experience.  The incumbent must be responsive to partner/member needs, have a collaborative attitude and have a proactive nature.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a consistent and positive experience for our partners and ultimately our Members through completion of work being sent to Investments Processing, Lending Processing, Mortgages Processing and ATM and Clearing Processing
  • Fulfill all processing requests triggered by both member requests and the system to ensure processes run smoothly and within defined service level agreements 
  • Verify documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Effectively communicate bottleneck and pain points encountered in day to day work
  • Appropriately escalate issues, situations, or problems as they arise to the Operations Processing Assistant Managers
  • Continuously look for ways to do things better
  • Work with the Operations Support team to update internal procedures as processes change and/or improve

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to consistent, accurate and timely processing
  • Demonstrate agility in moving from one task to another
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, prioritize work and be flexible
  • Commitment to values and service excellence
  • Solid product knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Mortgages, lines of credit and loans
    • Investments - registered, non-registered and deposit broker investments
    • Clearing
    • Electronic payments
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills, conducive to functioning in a liaison capacity with Branches and other outside agencies
  • Create a consistent and positive experience for our partners and members
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as being a positive contributor and asset in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem solving & time management ability, and a commitment to a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrates creativity in streamlining processes.
  • Strong ability to learn all aspects of Operations for example investments, loans, lines of credit, mortgages, electronic channels, and clearing.
  • Good working knowledge of Ovation and Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiar with documentation related to investment and lending.
