We are currently looking for a New Model Engineer to join our team in Brampton, ON

This role will be responsible for New Model Quality activities for all the vehicles launched in the Canadian market. The key will be developing Customer Focused Quality Targets and vehicle testing processes to meet customer expectation.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:

  • Feedback current model quality issues to the new product development team and follow up for the improvement action.
  • Conduct vehicle testing for the new models prior to their launch into the Canadian market. Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Translate the voice of the customer through bench-marking and competitor vehicle evaluation to establish the objective quality targets for the engineering team.
  • Analyze key market indicators based on syndicated surveys to identify priority issues to be addressed.
  • Set priorities and complete tasks/projects independently while working cross functionally with our global operations.    
  • Request the research and development team to review the design standards based on customer feedback.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 7+ year’s previous automotive experience with research and development focus is required. Prior work experience with other OEM’s preferred
  • Must have an in depth understanding of automotive technology, product knowledge, product quality related information systems.
  • Hands on experience with vehicle evaluation across Canada, bench-marking with competitor vehicles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, problem solving & presentation skills are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS applications.
  • Bilingual French would be an asset.
