On behalf of our client in the Government Services Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Network Infrastructure Specialist.

Network Infrastructure Specialist – Job Description

  • Provides physical and logical network infrastructure support via on-site and on-call methods.
  • This role will be responsible for the CCIM network availability, performance and security to ensure that network components required to ensure availability to the CCIM clients are functioning as per the committed service level requirements.
  • This role will monitor and action any alerts raised by the infrastructure monitoring tools by clients and their vendors, and by CCIM security and privacy and will ensure that the appropriate action is taken to mitigate any identified issues or risks.
  • The role is required to follow the established processes such as change and incident management to perform any required remediations or resolutions.
  • The network infrastructure availability, performance and security are key to the operational requirement in support of services CCIM provides to Community care sector organizations, and includes availability of the MIS, HRIS and IAR systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and operational advice to management/operations team regarding technical issues and impacts of proposed maintenance activities and enhancements to the infrastructure, databases, network, and applications;
  • Provide guidance to database administrators, network administrators and systems administrators (System Administration /Operation Support Specialists);
  • Ensure all CCIM environments are properly monitored and administered, including regular patch maintenance, security policies, incident and problem management response, appropriate execution of all documented operational processes and regular backups of all systems as defined in the disaster recovery plan;
  • Deliver expert-level troubleshooting capabilities to resolve complex issues affecting critical business and infrastructure systems, including but not limited to, Microsoft Windows Servers and Active Directory, Citrix XenApp and Netscaler, Microsoft SQL, VMware ESX, EMC SAN, RPA and Replication Manager;
  • Provide root cause analysis for network infrastructure issues and incidents;
  • Manage and escalate issues in a timely, appropriate and effective manner, and provide clear analysis of options regarding how to proceed with problem resolution;
  • Ensure that all environments follow security requirements, both physically and at the system levels, as per industry best practices, Ministry Security, Privacy and Risk Management guidelines and ISO 27001 standards implemented by CCIM;
  • Deploy any required network infrastructure changes as required in support of any deployments, patches and upgrades of MIS Microsoft Great Plains and HRIS Quadrant Workforce systems;
  • Ensure alignment of MIS and HRIS related upgrades with internal process and policies including privacy and security standards;
  • Provide analysis and design of the tools, operating environments, hardware and applications for sustainment activities as/when required;
  • Support creation and review of build books, run books, deployment guides and other operations processes as required;
  • Support relationships with technology vendors;
  • Monitor the effectiveness of CCIM technical systems to identify areas of improvement;
  • Provide input and recommendations to any future initiatives, and assist with projects as required
  • Provide after-hours and on-call support and implementation as required.

Network Infrastructure Specialist – Mandatory Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in building, maintaining and supporting network and security infrastructure
  • In depth understanding of technical infrastructure integration and other supporting network technologies, such as:
  • Citrix NetScaler
  • Security components like Network Intrusion Protection System, Geofencing and firewalls
  • VMWare products (i.e. ESXi, vSphere, etc.)
  • Microsoft server and active directory
  • Monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Splunk and Hyperic
  • Cisco VOIP solution components
  • Experience with ISO 27001 implementation and organization certification
  • Experience with network devices including switches, routers, firewalls and VPNs
  • Experience working with external hosting providers and other outsourced providers
  • Experience building, maintaining and supporting: o a Check Point FireWall-1/VPN-1
  • a Cisco switching and routing solution/environments (physical and virtual)
  • McAfee security solutions (AV, HIPS, NIPS)
  • Windows Server environment

Service Management Experience

  • Experience implementing, maintaining and supporting: o medium/large scale network health & availability monitoring solutions
  • a robust and scalable network-related patch management strategy across multiple environments within a data centre
  • Industry certifications, such as: o Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Experience in execution of change management and incident management processes
  • Experience supporting internal infrastructure technologies including laptops, email and voice over the internet protocol (VoIP), account creation and management, and issue resolution and escalation

  • Effective facilitation skills; ability to build rapport with stakeholders and drive negotiations to a successful outcome
  • Proven track record for building strong working relationships
  • Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, including tact and diplomacy to ensure client needs are managed effectively
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to apply strong listening skills to facilitate issue resolution
  • A motivated, flexible, creative team player with perseverance, excellent multi-tasking abilities and a proven track record for meeting strict deadlines

OPS & Healthcare Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry, specifically in maintaining and supporting systems such as Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), Hospital
  • Information Systems (HISs), Clinical Assessment tools, and Ontario Healthcare
  • Reporting Standards (OHRS) compliant Financial and Human Resource Management Systems
  • Knowledge of personal health information protection legislative requirements and how they apply to developing and maintaining healthcare systems containing personal health information
